We’re looking for a Director of Production.

Attended Events, a Raleigh-based event planning and production company, seeks an experienced production professional to join our growing team.

As a production leader at Attended Events, you'll be part producer and part relationship builder. You'll thrive on the details, producing events that educate and inspire. You will manage our production team and lead our production projects, ensuring we live up to our core values in every project. You'll work closely with our event management team, operations team, and technicians with a “yes, and” attitude to ensure we exceed our clients' expectations in every project. Your role will be dynamic, focusing on the unique technical details and deliverables for our projects. 

Position Overview

This is a full-time role. For this role, you’ll need to live in or near Raleigh, NC, and be willing to work in our downtown office 3-5 days per week and have the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week. Typical hours for this role are 9 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday; on occasion, there is a need to work additional hours on evenings and weekends during other events throughout the year. You may also be asked to travel outside of the area.

Responsibilities

The Director of Production will have the following responsibilities:

  • Direct the technical approach to client projects, including on-site audio/visual projects, studio projects, and video projects

  • Serve as technical producer for projects, determining and securing equipment, personnel, budgets, and schedules

  • Provide daily project management for production projects to ensure no detail is missed and margins are adequately maintained

  • Collaboratively brainstorm and pitch creative ideas to clients 

  • Prepare production estimates and proposals for new business efforts

  • Conduct site visits and surveys as needed

  • Collaborate with Event Leads on run-of-show documents in collaboration with clients

  • Fill the on-site technical director or show caller role as needed

  • Collect and/or oversee client content creation (slides, videos, etc.)

  • Forecast future equipment and staffing needs

  • Evaluate new technologies and suggest them for internal or client projects 

  • Ensure compliance with Attended technical, safety, and client experience standards

  • Participate in and lead, as necessary, client meetings 

  • Oversee technical contractor work, providing input, materials, and direction

  • Complete other projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of post-collegiate experience in special event production

  • Experience in a client-facing environment

  • Working knowledge of Vectorworks

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
