We’re looking for an Account Director.

Attended, a Raleigh-based event planning and production company, seeks an awesome Account Director to join our growing team.

As Account Director, you are a senior client services leader, one part strategist, one part relationship builder, and one part coach. You will own our most important client relationships, drive account growth, and ensure exceptional project delivery across the entire client services team. You are equally comfortable in an executive planning session and on a show floor, and you know how to grow accounts by delivering work worth growing.

Position Overview

For this role, you’ll need to live in or near Raleigh, NC, and be willing to work in our downtown office 3-5 days per week and have the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities

The Account Director will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior relationship holder for key accounts, building trusted partnerships with client stakeholders up to the executive level

  • Own multi-year client agreements, including agency of record relationships, retainers, and statements of work, managing commitments, reporting, and reconciliation with discipline

  • Lead annual business reviews and quarterly planning sessions that demonstrate value and set up renewal and expansion conversations

  • Own account growth across your portfolio, identifying opportunities, shaping proposals and estimates, and managing the intake of new requests

  • Take accountability for project delivery across the client services team, from a 40-person kickoff to a multi-thousand-person conference, ensuring every project is on time, on budget, and on brand

  • Directly manage Account Managers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development

  • Mentor Event Coordinators and set the standard for client service and deliverable quality across the team

  • Protect project margins by managing rate cards, expense markups, scope, and change orders

  • Review and approve client-facing deliverables, including proposals, SOWs, budgets, event plans, and change orders

  • Partner with the leadership team on team capacity, staffing assignments, and process improvements across client services

  • Serve as the escalation point for client concerns, resolving issues quickly and protecting the relationship

  • Provide on-site leadership for major events

  • Support new business pursuits for new and existing clients

  • Take initiative to handle other duties as they arise

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of post-collegiate experience in client management, ideally in an agency, events, or tech environment

  • Experience owning and growing enterprise or key accounts, ideally under retainer or agency of record structures

  • Experience managing or mentoring client-facing team members

  • A strong command of project financials, including budgets, margins, markups, and scope management

  • Experience with large-scale corporate events or conferences is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
